That morning, we headed to Mont Tremblant National Park which was around a 30-40 min drive from our chalet. We were planning to via ferrata (which is a protected climbing route with harnesses) and zip line that day!
Once there, they harnessed us in and led us to a training wall.
Here the wall was about 20 ft tall and had various mini courses all in one to prepare you (metal pegs, iron rings, ladders, carved steps, wooden posts, etc). The training one was pretty simple and we finished it in about 45 mins including orientation.
After that they led us through a trail to the start of the real deal. Here was the starting point.
After first it wasn’t too bad, we just climbed, walked a bit on some metal pegs sticking out from the wall, and climbed some more. Eventually you realize that you’ve gone so far up because when you look down, a valley of trees are beneath you.
After about (maybe) an hour or so, we made it to the top! We then hiked for a few mins to the ziplining dock.
Our first zipline was about 3-4 seconds long. Our second one was longer at about 9-10 seconds. At first I was nervous but I definitely did not have the butterfly-feeling-in-stomach as I would with free falls and roller coasters. The wave of trees beneath you looked so fluffy that you wouldn’t be scared of the height. The scenery was really nice but I think it would be stunning to come during autumn. Too bad I didn’t have a GoPro or anything so no pictures were captured 😦 Ziplining was an awesome experience, I would do it 100x more than roller coasters!
After that, we headed back to the chalet to change up and/or shower. An hour later we headed to Tremblant Village to walk around and be a part of the atmosphere.
There were a lot of families and some couples, most probably from out of town like us. Music and chatter were echoing through the village. Boutiques and shops were open for business as were restaurants.
We took a mini cable car up to the top of the village to check out sights there. Atop they had lugeing which we wanted to try but prices were really expensive so we gave up on the idea.
After a while we started feeling hungry so we looked for a restaurant to eat at and settled on XXX. Inside was very date and had dim lights, a pretty good setting for a date. Some of our chosen meals:
After dinner was around 8-9ish and the sun had already set outside the sky was a dark blue/grey colour. There was a stage nearby that was playing some music but no performances were going on.
As the sky got darker, lampposts and lights began turning on glittering the village path. There were still a lot of people walking around.
And that was it for Day 2! We were so out of it with the climbs in the morning and walks at night that we were ready to just sleep.
